Jenna Fischer is best known for her character Pam Beesly on the acclaimed television show The Office For her role, she received an Emmy nomination for the Best Supporting Actress as well as Two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance in the Ensemble Comedy.
Her family was based within St. Louis Missouri. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother, Anne performing in church plays. This instilled in her a love for theatre.
Following the conclusion of The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her origins. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway drama Reasons to be Happy. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's most recent production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she was then invited to appear in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer created Office Ladies, a podcast on Earwolf in October 2019. The show has been an enormous success, making in the Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads during its initial two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year Award in January 2021.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life An Actor's Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her story of moving from St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is outlined. The Office BFF's : Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends That Were There is also a memoir of Angela and herself and their friendship while working in The Office.
