Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and has the record of being given 10/10 points at an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to be Romania's gymnastics coach. She participated at the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. At her first international event that was an preolympics junior event for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. Her debut as a senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champion, winning four golds and one argent. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to perform a reverse double salto, which is a dismount from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in entertainment in her teens. At the age of a girl, she began performing as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. Ice Capades was a show that featured skaters ice skating with actors.
